Untreated chronic hepatitis due to HCV causes cirrhosis in 20 to 30% of patients, although development may take decades and varies because it is often related to a patient's other risk factors for chronic liver disease, including alcohol use and obesity. Acute hepatitis C develops after initial infection with the HCV. When they get into the urinary tract, however, there are no other bacteria there to keep them in check, so they multiply quickly and cause an infection. Iron, vitamin B-12 and folate are essential in the production of RBCs. While dogs are the most common victims of Bordetella, it can also occur in cats, rabbits, pigs and guinea pigs. Platelets are parts of cells that the body uses for clotting. A normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood. More than 450,000 indicates a condition called thrombocytosis while having fewer than 150,000 is known as thrombocytopenia.
